The Network arose from the Regional Agricultural Transformation Programme.
This programme involves efforts by CARIFORUM governments, development
agencies and private sector associations to devise strategies and programmes
that provide effective support to the regional agribusiness sector in
its quest to develop and sustain international competitiveness.
The networking and collaborative strategy allows for the maximisation
of the use of the limited resources in the region.

The CAMID Database
The principal mechanism for the storage and dissemination of the information
necessary for the fulfilment of the CAMID Network objectives is the

(fresh and processed products), and for any one commodity, accomodates
information on the following:
- Industry situation (international, regional and national)
- Imports and exports from countries of importance
- Demand variables (market characteristics, prices, market access requirements,
buyer profiles)
- Supply variables (production statistics and characteristics, export
requirements, supplier profiles)
